Franciscan Spirituality

The form of life of the Brothers and Sisters is this:
to observe the Holy Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ, living in obedience, in poverty and in chastity. Following Jesus Christ after the example of St. Francis, let them recognize that they are called to make greater efforts in their observance of the precepts and counsels of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

- from the Rule of the Third Order Regular
In our life the charism of St. Francis
establishes a clear direction:
  • St. Francis lived the Gospel unconditionally.
  • He was captured by the love of Christ in the crib, on the cross, and in the Eucharist.
  • He loved the Church and served the Holy Father
  • in loyalty and reverence.
  • He established peace and brought reconciliation wherever he went.
  • He desired Poverty and joyfully wished to be
  • a Friar Minor, a lesser brother.
  • He always sang the praise of God,
  • and he worked without extinguishing
  • the spirit of devotion.
  • He constantly lived in conversion and penance.
